Hi guys! I'm new here and proud new owner of a 9 week old westie/cairn cross!(hopefully you will have me here even tho she is a cross...she is a westie lookie likie! and 3/4 westie 1/4 cairn! ) we have however had a bit of a traumatic first week with our new little girl who we have named Sami. Got her last sunday and on tuesday she was kept in the vets for two days with gastroenteritis! we nearly lost her but thankfully she is on the mend and home again with us now. It was very unfortunate and couldve been caused by anything, ie doesnt mean it was a bad breeder! I am however scared to let her out of my sight now and she will now be the most spoilt pup around! (vet bill was as much as it cost to buy her!) amazing how quickly they steal your hearts, after only 2 days at home, there were tears all round when she couldnt come home from the vets. well hopefully in future i can post happy posts! Any caring tips appreciated as she is my first!I was going to attach a pic of Sami...but i dont know how to! Dee xx

Hi Dee
Glad you joined the Forum - it's rather quiet though at the moment.
Sorry to hear about the saga you've been through with Sami, sounds quite harrowing.
Unfortunately, you can't upload images to this Forum, but if you would like to email a picture to photos@westie-world.co.uk, I will either feature it in the main web site for you, or insert it in your Forum post for you - let me know which you'd like when you mail me.
Hope to hear from you again soon. Good luck with Sami.
Best wishes
Lee.

yes it is quiet on here isnt it!
Sami had her check up today and is doing very well, so booked in for her first jab on monday...all a bit behind schedule because of her illness!
also have started her on some 'propper' food (dry) and weaning her off her high energy food from the vets that she had to build her strength back up. Any suggestions for feeding, not sure how to tackle it, do i just give her the same each feed, or do i give her something different for breakfast maybe?
thanks for info bout photo, i may well send one in!
bye, Dee xx ;D

Hi Dee Loved the photo of your little girl. Hope you have a great time with her. I have never seen a Carin Westie mix before. I try and pop in here every once in a while and see if anyone is around. You can see our pups in the photo page. Your little girl is right after our new puppy Joey. If you ever have a question email me....... careyb@bigvalley.net Carey
