As you may have read elsewhere in this Forum already, the Westie Rescue (UK) Summer Fayre for 2004 will be held on Sunday, 29th. August. The venue was still being decided at the time of this post.
I thoroughly recommend the day out, having attended the last two in 2002 (Staffordshire) and 2003 (Wiltshire).

Even closer to Trowbridge! But let's spare a thought for Carly and Holly, who would have to come from Yorkshire and back again.
It would actually be well worth it, in my opinion, judging from previous years.

Could someone advise where the Liden Centre is? Access from M4?
Or if someone has a postcode then streetmap.co.uk should work.

Glad to hear it.
If there aren't many Westies where you live, you are going to be thoroughly spoilt on the day - you can't move for them!

My son and I seriously want a Westie and we are determined to go to this show. Wife is seriously against the idea of having a Westie in the family and is threatening not to go with us..... I think the next few months will require some careful encouragement..... Andrew

Oooops!
Hope you can convince her that attendance does not compulsorily mean taking on a rescue Westie.
As they say in corporate prize draws, "No purchase necessary to enter!" ;D

Hope you can convince her that attendance does not compulsorily mean taking on a rescue Westie. I just have this vision of us getting a Westie and then finding it stuck almost permanently on her knee when she is watching TV, not giving us a look in. She has commented before now that if a Westie comes in the front door then she'll be leaving at the back door. I don't think she realises how close a call this is..... Andrew

You could try one of two things:
[glow=red,2,300]A.[/glow] Bring Westie in by back door route, just to confuse her - perhaps she won't know which way out she should take!
[glow=red,2,300]B.[/glow] Change lock on back door, then lock it before bringing Westie through front door.
I take no responsibility if wife jumps out of window as an alternative!

Hi HandyMac, My wife and i bought our first westie 18 mths ago,Pip as she is known was my wifes first ever dog, never ever been allowed to have one one due to a phobia that her mother had about dog`s.Jan was apprehensive at first about the idea of getting a westie and was`nt so sure, after 18 mth`s of ownership we could never imagine life without her,she is out ray of sunshine and always a joy to be with, she light`s up our live`s and the good thing is about her is that the love and affection that she give`s you is unconditional and does`nt cost anything. Pip is such a wonderful dog,no trouble at all and not aggressive in the slightest, when she goes out for her walk`s and meet`s other westies it`s charming to watch them,no snarling,no noise and never any trouble, all in all a truly wonderful dog,if you do manage to get one it will fill a void in your life and it will never be the same again[. I hope that this is is of help to you,we might even get to meet up at the westie weekend and let your wife meet our dog as she is very fond of anything human. Regards Martin (Proud Westie Owner) I just have this vision of us getting a Westie and then finding it stuck almost permanently on her knee when she is watching TV, not giving us a look in. She has commented before now that if a Westie comes in the front door then she'll be leaving at the back door. I don't think she realises how close a call this is..... Andrew[/quote] TEXTTEXTTEXT
